Event Recap: Spindletop Charities Mardi Gras Celebration

Event Recap: Spindletop Charities Mardi Gras Celebration

On Friday Feb. 9, 2018, Painting with the Twist had the pleasure of being part of Spindletop Charities annual Mardi Gras celebration at the beautiful Rice Hotel Crystal Ballroom. The Spindletop organization is known for the community involvement and efforts in helping at risk kids.

Spindletop Charities, Inc. benefits youth charity organizations in the Greater Houston Area, while promoting goodwill and fellowship within the oil and gas industry. Since 1966, Spindletop has contributed over $21 million to aid children. Donations focus on specific projects and educational programs that directly serve at-risk youth.

During this event our talented artists/instructors lead a large collaborative piece, in which guest could come up and be individually taught by the artist to complete the painting. Guest we’re also able to go into our mobile art studio inside the Crystal Ballroom and paint his/her own self guided art work.

At the end of the night the collaborative piece was auctioned off and proceeds were to donated to Spindletop Charities. Last year’s piece sold for a quite a few thousand dollars!

Painting with a Twist always loves being part of giving back and per usual we enjoyed being part of this collaborative painting and one of a kind even. Thank you Spindletop for having us once again.
