With so many things to do in Houston it can be difficult to figure out where to go on date night. Dinner and a movie can get boring after a while, a crowded bar isn’t the best place to have meaningful conversation, and it’s too cold right now to do picnics at the park. Where can you got for a nice date then?
The great thing about Painting with a Twist is that we offer a variety of classes, including couples painting classes. Our studios are also in some of the most popular areas of Houston, so before or after class you can stop by one of our neighboring businesses to make the date even more memorable.
The Heights:
Down the street from our Heights location is Southern Goods, a delicious BBQ restaurant with craft beer and occasional live music. Also right next to our studio is Mt. Olive Gourmet Foods, where you can find falafels that you can take home and cook with your significant other after class. Either way you and your partner will go home with full stomach and new art!

Westheimer:
Westheimer is known for its buzzing social scene, upscale dining, and unique bars. Our Westheimer studio is right on main road just blocks away from some of the most popular spots on that side of town . Including some of the most well known bars in the city such as Season 52, Stone’s Throw, Moxie’s Bar & Grill, White Star, Relish, and Anvil. Really impress you’re date by taking them to some of these beautiful and classy bars before or after class. You can also keep things fun by singing your heart out at Spotlight Karaoke, not to far from our studio.
Midtown:
Midtown is a great place to go if you’re looking for an adventure. You can park your car along the street or a city parking lot, hop on the train or rent a city bike, and go explore. Our Midtown location is located just a couple blocks from the train and various city parking lots. Not too far from our studio is Taco’s a Go Go, Natachee’s Super & Punch, Continental Club, Axelrad, and more where you can go grab some great food and drinks. You can also have a whole day of art on Thursday’s when the entire Houston Museum District is free. So you and your date can stop by the Museum of Fine Arts during the day and then use your new found inspiration during one of our classes at night.
Katy:
Not too far from our Katy location is a Houstonian favorite, Spec’s Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods. We do allow guest to purchase alcohol at our studios, however guest are allowed to bring beverages and/or food with them into class. Take a trip to Spec’s before class and bring your favorite drink and snacks to enjoy with your partner while you two paint. We’re sure this combination will make for a memorable date night.

Spring Valley:
Our Spring Valley studio is also directly across the street from a Spec’s Wine, Spirit, & Finer Foods location as well. Once again, buying and bringing your own beverages is optional but who wouldn’t enjoy having your favorite bottle of wine between you and your date while you’re painting? Also right beside our studio is well known Argentinian steakhouse which was recently featured on Houston Restaurant Week ; Patagonia Grill and Cafe. In February they are also offering a special Valentine’s Day menu. Exceed your date’s expectations by buying a bottle wine at Spec’s to share , taking one of our Valentine’s day couples painting classes Valentine’s day couples painting classes, and then ending the evening with a high quality dinner. Love will definitely be in the air.

Cypress:
If you want to get really creative, turn your date night a date day by treating yourself and your partner to some pampering and good southern comfort food. Directly next to our Cypress studio are Cypress Breakfast House and Five Star Nail Salon & Spa. Grab some breakfast or brunch, come paint and sip at one of our classes, and then get a couples massage or pedicure. That sound’s like the epitome of a perfect and relaxing date day.
Sugar Land:
If you have little ones and rarely have the opportunity to spend some time with your significant other then our Sugarland location is where you want to be. Conveniently located directly next to The Little Gym, you can drops your kid(s) off at the Little Gym for a hour or so while you and your partner enjoy some quality time together painting at one of our classes. If you want to make it a family affair you can all participate in one of our kids art classes as well.
Whether it be the very first date or the 100th date, you should always want to make a good impression. The best way to impress your date is by doing something out of the box and creative so you can both enjoy a new experience together.
