Dad’s Day 5K & 1K Family Fun Run
What better way to celebrate Dad than running or walking in the annual Dad’s Day 5K, 3K and 1K Kids Walk benefiting Tex Us TOO! We call it saving the males! The race features a timed 5K race, a 3K fun run/walk and 1K kids run. Adult participants receive a gender specific, dry fit style race shirt and can enjoy post race refreshments from Randall’s Supermarket. Kids in the 1K receive a superhero cape and a finisher medal. And each participant can receive one free family photo courtesy of Cox Sports Photos. Additionally overall, age group and team awards are presented post race. Texas Taco Mania
Spend Father’s Day Sunday trying out tacos, listening to live music, browsing craft booths and more at Houston’s Bayou City Event Center. The Coalition of Hispanics for Excellence In Technology & Art (CHEITA) hosts this all-day festival, benefiting the city’s cultural arts programs, which is set to include a specialty food trucks, live music from Handsome Beast, art booths, a classic car show and a kids’ area for the little ones.
Kayak with Dad at Kinder Lake
Everyone love a day at the park, especially at Houston’s beautiful Discovery Green park. Discovery Green has recently re-opened their lake just in time for the summer season. You can sit by lake and just enjoy the view or even rent an electric RC boat. Visitors can also kayak on the lake. Kayak rides are only $5 per person for 15 minute ride and will be available to 11am – 7pm on Sunday. Click here for more information and park hours.
