5 Fun Mother’s Day Weekend Activities in Houston

Whether you are a mom or want to show appreciation to your own mommy it can be a challenge to think of a Mother’s Day activity that the whole, but especially mom, will enjoy. Moms give so much that it seems almost impossible to take them to the perfect place or give them the perfect gift on Mother’s Day. One of the best ways to show mom some love and appreciation is to take her out on the town. Memories are far more valuable than a physical gift and something that she can never loose and will always remember. So what are some activities to do or places to go that mom will love? We’re here to help! Check out our  suggestions of 5 fun mother’s day weekend activities in Houston.

Treat your mom to a special day at the Blue Field Market! In addition to our weekly events: local shopping, local foods, live music, craft beer, & mimosas, we will have a flower pot painting & planting workshop. Each participant will start by painting a flower pot. While the paint is drying, we will have a flower arrangement demonstration by Yvette, a flower farmer and expert from Addy’s Flower Farm. After the demonstration, it will be time to make your own arrangement with your choice of flowers or succulents! All supplies, pots, flowers, and expert instruction will be provided for you! At the end of the workshop, one lucky person will win the large arrangement used in the demonstration!

The class is 45 minutes, but you’re invited to stick around for sipping, shopping, and snacks. All levels are welcome for moms of any age and daughters age 6 and up.

Brenners on the Bayou Mother’s Day Brunch

The lush gardens and Buffalo Bayou make a picturesque setting for a lovely Mother’s Day brunch. Sip $6 mimosas or $8 Bloodys alongside choice starters, including New Orleans-style beignets, fluffy cinnamon rolls and cognac-kissed lobster bisque. Then sip your cocktails some more and move on to the main event, from Portobello mushroom omelettes and crab cake Benedict to chipotle shrimp and grits and chicken-fried filet and eggs. Afterward, stick around for the last of Brenner’s live music series, Bands on the Bayou, which jazzes up the patio deck from 3 to 6 p.m.
